II. Export / Iran Embargo

We also do consultation for you concerning consequences and scope of the Iran embargo. Currently the following Iran embargo exists:

• a unilateral total embargo of the USA (cf. Iranian Transaction Regulation 31 CFR 560 of the OFAC) and
• a partial embargo according to the Regulation adopted by the UN Security Council on 23 December 2006 (cf. Resolution 1737/2006)

The UN Resolution especially refers to nuclear materials and to payments to persons listed in the annex. This UN Resolution is only binding for EC Member States after being implemented by the Council of Ministers of the EU (expected not before April or May 2007).
