Job experience: from 1965 until May 2007 (nearly 42 years long) employee in the German federal tax and customs administration, first as head for customs clearance at the Customs Office Pirmasens (1965-67), then representing the Tax Commissioner in Neustadt at the Wine Road (until November 1969), then tax/customs auditor in the customs administration for the following tasks: excise duties (esp. petroleum and sparkling wine tax), customs duties, rules of origin and preferences, business situation, credit and cost assessment (inter alia for the spirits monopoly), checks for other German federal agencies and export controls. In between responsible for “organisation” at the Regional Customs Office Koblenz and Head of the Customs Office Neulauterburg. Since September 1995 customs auditor in export controls. Since 2001 head of exports within the Regional Customs Office Saarbruecken, being responsible for export audits in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland (controlling 7 export auditors); and since June 2007 free-lancer with Hohmann & Partner.
Law Areas, in which he supports: export trade law and customs law, as far as export controls are concerned, Authorized Economic Operator, capital flows and money transfers, as well as excise duties.
Publications: article on the steel trade conflict with the USA, articles on export law in preparation; and publications on WTO law for Prof. Stoll.
Additional knowledge: 38 years experience as customs auditor of the German federal customs administration (inter alia 12 years in a leading position), experience in companies with different size, knowledge about structures and job performance in various customs administrations; understanding for economic affairs in companies (annual accounts and accounting.
